Mint Tin Art
Remington Robinson/Animal News Agency
Robinson paints inside mint tins.
When many artists paint outdoors, they need large supplies like a canvas and an easel. Not Colorado artist Remington Robinson! All he needs is paint, a paintbrush, and an empty mint tin. The artist has been making mini paintings on the lids of mint tins since 2017. He uses the inside of the tin as his paint palette, where he mixes colors. He’s painted and sold more than 400 tins so far, with scenes ranging from colorful flowers to towering Colorado mountains.
“Nature is the biggest inspiration,” Robinson says.
On average, it takes Robinson2 hours to make 1 mint tin painting.
About how long would it take him to paint 10 mint tins?
