This June, 24 countries will compete in the Women’s World Cup. The soccer tournament will take place in nine cities in France.
Team USA is the defending champion. Many think they will win again this year. Yet teams from France and Germany are also expected to be strong. Other teams are making their first appearance, like Chile, Jamaica, Scotland, and South Africa.
Jill Ellis is the head coach of Team USA. She encourages the team to work together. “The closer we become as a unit, the better our odds will be in June,” she says.
